Day 28: Last Day in Australia & Bali Arrival

Day 28: Last Day in Australia & Bali Arrival

Monday, September 23rd

We had a nice relaxing morning. Early on, the bakery Kurtosh reached out to me and said they would love to treat us to a meal. We ended up making that our first stop of the day. We were already planning to go back for our same egg, cheese, & bagel sandwiches and a flat white, so it was so neat to get a comped meal! We made sure to put together some good content for them, which we would have done regardless.

We then got in another good workout at the W hotel gym. We recorded a workout for me to post to my instagram as well.

We then packed up and put together a bag to ship back to the U.S. so we could travel light heading into Bali.

We did a nice walk around the Harbor and got some sun.

We took an Uber to the airport & checking in was a breeze. We got a simple Cesar salad & Christopher got his typical ham & cheese croissant. We began reaching out to hotels in Bali for collaborations

I continued playing 2048, and we continued watching narcos.

Virgin Australia wasn’t our favorite airline, but it was fine! We made it safely. That’s all that matters most! ;)

We purchased our visas upon arrival. We grabbed our luggage. We did our health questionnaire & declaration forms ahead of time & had the QR codes ready. The airport is CRAZY, even at midnight.

We had transportation arranged through Mandala Clubhouse, which was included with our booking. Our driver was amazing. His English wasn’t great, but he was full of joy & laughter. We had a blast trying to communicate. I love how humans can still connect and communicate even with very little words. Kindness is a universal language.

We got to our hotel, & it was beautiful, just as we expected. We were so happy to be here. I didn’t tell Christopher they were setting up roses, etc. so that was a funny surprise for him.

We went on a short little walk to grab a bite. We ended up at a place called Eden, just down the street. It was open until 2am & served breakfast all day long, so this is what we got!

We stop by a mart to get a bunch of snacks & water for only $5 USD.

We got back & went to bed at 3am, which was 5am for Sydney, so we practically pulled an all-nighter.

My highlight arriving to our hotel & being in Bali. I also loved seeing Christopher’s reaction to the scooters & traffic. He embraced it all. It is pretty crazy though. Like nothing you’ll ever witness in the U.S. or even Mexico. I studied abroad in China, so I’ve seen very similar stuff to this. It makes you so grateful for the lives we live in America.

Christopher’s highlight was looking for our taxi driver. We were getting bombarded. People everywhere and coming up so close trying to give you a ride, and even when you tell them you have a ride, they don’t stop. It was hilarious.
