Day 35: Camaya Here We Come
Share
Monday, September 30th
We had a nice relaxing morning. Today was the first time we actually ate breakfast at Mandala. It was nice. I got egg whites with a piece sourdough toast & Christopher got cute little mini pancakes. It was super light, but all we needed.
We headed upstairs to pack everything up & get ready. Christopher dipped in the pool and I got some steps in on the treadmill & a little pump in with dumbbells before we left. We ran by the mart across the street to stock up on water.
We used the Grab app to get a ride to Camaya. Thankfully, it was a nice clean & comfortable car. Christopher got car sick, which made me super nervous he got sick from the juice he drank this morning. I’m paranoid about everything now. LOL.
On the drive, seeing all the houses, it just continues to remind me how grateful I am for our beautiful & clean homes we have back in the United States. We are beyond blessed and so fortunate. People have no idea how others live in countries outside of ours. We have a whole different definition of “normal”. We can truly never know what someone else is thinking, but it seems as if there is no jealousy here either. People in America are always on social media, comparing their lives to one another. Social media is just a highlight reel. Whether it has to do with appearances, what your house looks like, what kind of car you drive, what type of hand bag do you carry, etc. when none of it really matters. We all know the saying, more money, more problems, which I don’t think is 100% true, we just all have different problems. Life should be valued by our relationships, our health, our memories. Different things make different people happy. We just should all strive to be grateful, always be kind, because you never know what someone else is going through, and give/help others as much as we can. But, ANYWAYS…
We get our drivers contact so we can have him for tomorrow, since he was so great.
We arrive to Camaya, and all I can say is WOW. They had a little welcome tea & snack upon arrival. The view was breathtaking. Talk about the cherry on top to our trip in Bali. Sure, it wasn’t the most perfect trip (mainly because I got sick) but let me tell you, this was the most PERFECT ending. Our two story villa was unbelievable. They had created a heart on the bed made of roses and put a cute heart balloon on the bed.
We spend the afternoon making so much content. The really neat thing about collaborations like this is even if we weren’t collaborating and here to make content for them, we would do it all anyways. We were just so excited and honored to land one with a villa that has been featured on Netflix. The entire time, we had a BLAST. We hung out on the net you could lay on that hung out off the roof and overlooked the jungle. They set up a flower hot tub for us. We ordered a bottle of wine to enjoy. We knocked out all the stuff we needed to record so fast, so we could relax and enjoy. We have become very efficient in making content together.
There was also a beautiful, private outdoor shower. They supplied soft, warm robes and lighter robes for you.
We had an INCREDIBLE dinner at their cute little restaurant. Christopher got a grilled cheese, popcorn chicken, and a burger. I got pumpkin soup and then some seafood pasta. It was all delicious. We sat and talked with a couple from Germany for well over an hour. We exchanged contact info with them, so hopefully we can meet up with again. So far, every country we have gone to we have met a couple where we stay in touch with.
This truly was the most magical day here.
The highlights we do at the end of everyday always help us keep an attitude of gratitude on our worst and best days. My highlight was having a glass of wine in our flower hot tub and just constantly saying to one another “we’re in Bali”. Once again, just always reflecting on how blessed we are to see the world. Christopher and I also talked about how we never once had a “bad day” here. Even when I got sick and on the days we didn’t feel too hot, we still enjoyed ourselves so much. That’s one of the things I love most about our relationship is that we always bring out the best in one another, and we are always there to uplift the other if one of us are ever feeling slightly down, bad, or just a little off!
