Day 39: Red Sand Dessert, Camel Ride, & Sand Boarding

Day 39: Red Sand Dessert, Camel Ride, & Sand Boarding

Friday, October 4th

We awake before our alarms. I head down to the gym to start getting my steps in. Christopher meets me down, and we get in a solid 30 minute workout. We have breakfast at the hotel. They have a good breakfast deal, and we wanted to have full bellies for our adventures today.

Our guide picks us up right on time. We leave our luggage at the hotel. It takes about an hour to get to where we are going out to the Red Sand Dessert. Right as we get there, they helped wrap us up in their traditional scarfs to protect our faces from the sand. Our first adventure was a camel ride. This was quite the experience. I would definitely do it again. We had so much fun! Add “ride a camel” to your bucket list! Then our driver took us off roading in a big Nissan. It was a little scary, and Christopher got car sick. At one point I thought he was going to flip the car down the sand dunes! It was wild. We finally stopped and got out to take a bunch of photos and then we got to snowboard down the sand dunes. We both just sat on it, and it was still so fun.

We got back to the hotel and did a lunch buffet at a restaurant in the hotel. I loaded up an all the veggies and also got some seafood and chicken. Christopher ate a bunch of pizza. We then grabbed an Uber to our next hotel right by the airport.

After putting together a reel, I convinced Christopher to come with me to the gym to walk on the treadmill for a little. We used to play games back and forth on our phones (the game pigeon) and we haven’t done this in forever. So we played some darts, filler, sea battle, and pool.

We picked up some snacks yesterday, so we are just staying in for dinner tonight. We will munch on our good ol’ digestive biscuits, protein bars, and bananas.

We are in bed super early tonight, because tomorrow will be a long travel day.

Both of our highlights today were the camel ride. Christopher’s more specific highlight was looking at the photos of himself on the camel. Y’all, these photos are so comical. The way the wind is blowing made him look like a different person. We couldn’t stop laughing. There were some priceless photos of my shorts blowing as well.
