Day 40: London Here We Come! Tower Bridge

Day 40: London Here We Come! Tower Bridge

Saturday, October 5th

Up & at em’! We take a 6AM shuttle to the airport. We are so excited, because we are flying Emirates again. We have over a 7 hour flight, and they serve a meal and a “light snack” that’s still decent sized. Their food is great, especially for plane food. We had a great flight. We ended up watching Barbie movie. It started off slow, but then we were dying laughing together. After Barbie movie, we started watching the second season of Rings of Power on Amazon Prime. I downloaded this ahead of time, and the new season just came out.

The plane ride flew by. We were sitting next to a lovely older couple from Australia, who even invited us to come stay at their house the next time we are in town. They have three children, and they sponsored a girl who went to school in Australia as well.

We gained a few hours coming to London, so by the time we arrived we had plenty of daylight left. We took the train straight to our hotel. The public transportation here is so easy. It’s connected to the airport.

We arrive at our first collaboration, the Hyatt Place London City East. Our room is beautiful and we have a balcony with an amazing view of the city. We gather some quick content and head straight out.

We go straight to the Tower Bridge, and WOW. It’s more beautiful than I remember. I am just so excited, because this is Christopher’s first time seeing the UK. A ship ended up going under the bridge that they had to open the gate for. It was so cool to see them raise it up. I never got to see this in the past when I was here about 8 years ago.

It’s pretty cold here, and Christopher doesn’t even have a long sleeve, because we shipped everything back. We tried to find a store, but we didn’t have any luck. We did walk over the bridge, which was super neat. You can see the London Eye in the background. We explored a little bit of the other side, and then headed back home, because it was so cold.

My highlight today was seeing the Tower Bridge. I love that everything feels so new again seeing it all with my love by my side. Christopher fell asleep before me, and he just told me his highlight was when he woke back up and said “I love you” before I fell asleep. We ALWAYS say I love you before bed and every morning. It’s always the most important start and end to our days.
