Day 47: Flea market, Adventuring to “No Where”, César Restaurant

Saturday, October 12th
We took our time this morning waking up. I got 30 minutes of a band workout in before we ventured out for the day. We stopped at a place called Brioche Doree for breakfast. We both got yummy ham & cheese sandwiches.
We then started making our way towards the Louvre. We took a longer route to walk by a few gorgeous museums and along the water with more amazing views. We came across a flea market and ended up going into a whole bunch of thrift stores. By the time we were done exploring this part of Paris, we decided it was too late to go to the Louvre, because we’d rather spend majority of the day there. It was such a gorgeous part of town and there was so much to see, that we had a blast just wandering around all day with no agenda and taking in every street we turned down. We didn’t have any luck with finding anything from the markets or thrift shops, but it was still fun to look! We also checked out a bunch of designer thrift stores. I also just love walking down all the different streets, looking at all the restaurants decorated so perfectly with flowers.
We also stumbled across a beautiful church that we were able to walk through. There are so many gorgeous churches in Europe that are so old. It’s so incredible to see the buildings that are so old and to think they did this far before the technology and machines we have today, yet they’re still standing strong.
We then searched for a store called Lipault Luggage that we discovered in London, but is a Paris brand. We wanted to get a sleek light weight duffel for traveling, and we found a perfect one here.
We finally headed back to our place to drop off the bags and regroup before dinner. We ended up going to a restaurant right near our place called César Paris. We had no idea this was a little “famous” spot. There was a hall of fame. So many celebrities eat here. Christopher got a pasta with parmesan cream and sage, “flambée with Cognac in a wheel of parmesan cheese, prepared in front of you” He loved it! I got another salad, per usual. It was also great.
We walked to the top of the street after dinner to take in the view of the Arc and Eiffel Tower at night. It was so beautiful. The whole city of Paris is endless beauty at all hours of the days.
We headed in nice and early tonight. It was another day of over 22,000 steps. We spent the night going through photos and relaxing.
My highlight today was seeing the Eiffel Tower all lit up behind the Arc. Christopher’s highlight was dinner. It was such a neat atmosphere and it was cool to discover that this is where all the celebrities hang out! He also really enjoyed walking through the church. It’s always impossible to choose just one favorite part of the day. All of our days are so good.
