Day 66: Mykonos, Greece

Thursday, October 31st
Another exciting day ahead of us! I woke up and started getting a sty on my eye. I was in a lot of pain, but despite this, I am determined to have a great day. We got a nice little workout in then ate a good breakfast to fuel us for an adventurous day.
We wasted no time & got off the ship. We took a sea bus/taxi over to Mykonos city center. Another day of endless beauty.
The streets of Mykonos are incredible. I had no idea it would be like this. They are so clean and everything is white, just like Santorini. We ventured around all afternoon. There were so many designer stores. We got to see the big windmill on the hill overlooking all of Mykonos. We could even see our ship.
We discovered a bright, unique purse store, full of handmade bags. The bags are made right in Greece. Christopher treated me to a beautiful new bright pink purse, and you could pick out whatever strap you wanted. I got a neon orange acrylic one. It’s so neat, because you can remove links and change the length. It also feels nice on your skin.
Next, I was able to treat Christopher. He saw this beautiful pillow cover that was of Greece. It’s our first “decoration” for our new home! We plan to keep our apartment colors very neutral, so this will give it a nice pop of color.
We found a pharmacy, and I was able to get some eyedrops with antibiotics in them. It’s nice that you don’t need a prescription or a doctor to get something like this, and they were only £5, so that was a nice surprise also.
Lastly, we ventured over to “Little Venice”. We had a blast walking down all the beautiful streets exploring & finding great photo opportunities.
We stopped at a place right along the water with all the windmills in the background. I had sunglasses on the entire day to hide my eye. I joked that I was in disguise and wrapped my scarf around my head & Christopher did it with me. We got espresso & pita bread. We realized this was our first time we ordered any food off of the ship. We were laughing and goofing off the entire time, making silly videos.
We then took the sea taxi back to our port. (It was only £2 each way.)
Once we were back on the ship. It was completely decorated for Halloween. They did such a wonderful job.
We snagged a salad and some sandwiches from the cafe. It’s nice that there’s always some type of food available no matter what time it is. They always have healthy options too, which is nice.
We got another lift in & watched the sunset from the gym as we sailed away from Mykonos. We definitely plan to come back.
We went upstairs to the buffet before dinner this time to snag a plate of desserts. They were so cute. They made everything special for Halloween, decorating cupcakes etc. with ghosts, pumpkins, witches, spiders, webs, and more.
Sadly, we didn’t realize we would be on the ship for Halloween, so we didn’t have a costume, but not many people were dressed up anyways. We tried to find something on land, but we didn’t have any luck. Halloween isn’t as big overseas as it is in America.
We relaxed and watched some Umbrella Academy before heading down to dinner. We had a lovely time at dinner, per usual.
We watched some more Umbrella Academy before bed. We are HOOKED!
Christopher’s highlight today was acting ridiculous at the restaurant in Mykonos. There’s never a dull moment between the two of us. I’m gonna have to say this was my highlight as well. There’s nothing I love more than being silly together.
