Day 7: Is this real life?

Day 7: Is this real life?

Monday, September 2

We start our day by snagging a coffee at a cute little cafe nearby called Alma. Christopher gets an English muffin with what he thought was bacon, but turned out to be tomato, onion, corn, and something else we had no idea what it was but it was pretty gross. LOL.

We go on a nice walk to find somewhere else to eat. Along our walk, we discover so many cool areas. Everything always happens for a reason. We explore a little shopping area called Queen Victoria’s building. I feel like we are in Europe with all of the beautiful old architecture.

We end up eating breakfast at a little cafe called Binge. It was perfect. The staff were great. I got toast with poached eggs, cheese and ham. Christopher got a ham & cheese croissant and a dirty chai. We were both very satisfied!

As we were sitting I said “Babe I don’t know what I want to do with the rest of our lives”… Christopher responds. Give me kisses.” He’s such a cutie. But, I truly have NO IDEA where I want to live, raise a family, or buy a home. I can be happy anywhere. I just love adventuring. The world is such a beautiful place. There’s so much to do and so much to see. I couldn’t imagine staying in one place the rest of our lives. Of course we want a home base, but I know even once we have children we will take them with us everywhere all over the world. I truly believe traveling is one of the best ways to learn & grow, and it gives you such a greater appreciation for the world and culture.

We head back to the W for a nice workout. Christopher takes a dip in the pool. There’s two pools here. It’s insanely windy out. Who knew Australia was so windy? So we go down to the indoor one.

We pack up and head to our airbnb. We stop at the grocery store on the way. We made the mistake of going to the wrong garage, so we ended up having to pay for our parking, even for a 30 minute grocery stop. We get everything we need. Salad, bread for sandwiches, ham, peanut butter, jelly, eggs, protein bars, protein shakes and butter.

Our airbnb is cute on the inside, but the outside is rough. We are on the third floor with only a tiny staircase to get up. This is super similar Europe. It’s in a safe area, so we suck it up. Our biggest concern is having a comfortable place to sleep at night and decent wifi to get work done.

We waste no time and get right back out to adventure. We spend the rest of the day walking around and exploring.

We go through the Royal Botanical Gardens on our way to the Opera House. It was breathtaking. They have so many different beautiful sections. It is full of beautiful birds and right along the water.

Once we got to the Opera House, we were completely in awe. Both of us continuously saying to one another, I can’t believe this is real life.

We walk along the water and explore an area called The Rocks. We walk down “Nurses Walk” which is filled with neat architecture. We stumble across Sydney’s oldest pub.

We are really putting in the miles today (& everyday) Along our walk, we get Christopher some new white casual shoes from Lululemon. His feet were hurting from his Birkenstocks, & we have been on the hunt for plain white shoes for SO LONG and unable to find any in the states. So it was well worth it. We continue on our trek for dinner.

We wanted to go back to Macchiato, because we enjoyed it so much yesterday. The manager recognizes us and asks us if we want our same spots. We get a salad with grilled chicken again (it was AMAZING) and Christopher got a cheese & garlic pizza. They also had a little special going on where if you leave a review they will make you any hot drink for free, so we got a mocha decaf and hot chocolate (both were amazing) and wrote them 5-star reviews, which we would have done no matter what.

We get back to the house, wrap up some work, go through photos, shower, and pass out. It was safe to say both of our highlights was the seeing the Sydney Opera house up close with our own eyes.
