Day 70: HOME Sweet HOME

Day 70: HOME Sweet HOME

Monday, November 4th

Wow does it feel so good to be back.

We are up bright and early, because our bodies are used to being quite a few hours ahead. I came downstairs after finishing up some laundry, & I caught Christopher making me a cute coffee cup. Normally, I always write him sweet little notes on coffee cups, and he surprised me & got me back today. He’s a keeper.

I made us our regular coffees. Being in the kitchen is my favorite! I love making “specialty” coffees that are delicious and low in calories. I always think the coffees I make at home are far better than any coffee out, and I think Christopher would agree. ;)

We start our day with a trip to Publix. It’s going to be a busy week, and we need healthy food to fuel us. Christopher laughed the other day and said he never thought he would hear himself say that he missed Publix. I am so excited to be cooking at home again, and I know he is too. We stocked up with our necessities & got right back home.

It was Monday, and we were so motivated. We were both so ready to work & grind hard today. Christopher knocked out some work, & I took a walk around the lake as I accomplished a bunch of tasks from my phone.

After getting some stuff done, we headed straight to our old apartment to ensure we have our new lease locked in.

Right as we got in the lady in the leasing office asked us if we were ready to see our new apartment. We had no idea it was all going to happen so fast since we never had signed any official documents or paid anything other than the application fee for the screening process. She ends up handing us the keys right away. As her and I were chatting, she let me know we were going to get the month of December free for rent. She also ensured that we were locked in at the cheapest rate & switched the move in date to today’s date for us! (So we were able to get November slightly discounted). It was all such a pleasant surprise, and ensured us that we made the right decision moving back to our same building. Christopher gave me a big hug and kiss and said it really pays off to be a good person. He gave me credit for always being so kind to everyone in the building and said the leasing office loves me, because I am so friendly with them. I was happy they were so glad to have us back, and we were so appreciative for what she did for us.

I ran into a friend in the building who was originally planning to move out, but she gave me & the office the exciting news that she’s deciding to renew! More AMAZING news! She brightens my mornings everyday simply by seeing her face.

We got in a nice little workout while we were there, then we headed straight home to pack up & take our first load!

I’m so grateful we have my parent’s house (which is where we stored everything while we were gone) so we can have a smooth move. Even though we don’t have to rush, we are just so excited. We love being downtown, because our building has a great gym and the walkability is great. We also love & missed our community in St. Pete so much, and we are looking forward to seeing all of the locals.

Christopher’s highlight was waking up early and having a normal morning. We love our everyday life together. We had the best time traveling the world, but I love the life we have created and get to wake up to every day together.

My highlight was going to bed & being so happy & grateful to be back. We couldn’t have asked for a better first day back. Life is good & God is great. I am so excited to continue building & growing together. Cheers to the next chapter, & the best one yet of our lives.
